Angstrom running for county treasurer position

Brenda Angstrom, clerk in the Webster County treasurer’s office, is running to replace Treasurer Jan Messerly who will retire in December.

“Today I offer my 23 years experience in the courthouse to the voters of Webster County as I seek office of Webster County Treasurer on the Democratic ticket,” Angstrom said.

Angstrom has been with the county since Aug. 15, 1994, when she started in the county auditor’s office. She became drainage clerk in 1998 and spent 10 years there before moving to the treasurer’s office. In that office, she worked on both the motor vehicle and property tax tax sides.

“I think with the experience that I’ve had between the two offices, I have learned a lot, and I have no problem taking on a challenge and learning new things,” Angstrom said.

“I feel I have the skills and knowledge needed for this office.”

Angstrom said she and her husband Charles “Chuck” Angstrom live in Gowrie. They have two adult children who are residents of Dayton and Moorland.
