Man arrested in November burglary
A Fort Dodge man was arrested Friday — a month and a half after a burglary and shooting were reported to Fort Dodge police.
The suspect has been identified as Brody W. Walker, 19, Fort Dodge police said Friday.
He is charged with one count of first-degree burglary.
According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, the initial report came in on Nov. 21, 2017, at 2:06 a.m. A caller reported hearing four gunshots fired in the 600 block of South 22nd Street.
Within a minute of that call, police received another call saying a burglary had occurred at 610 S. 22nd St.
The Police Department reported it learned two men entered the home and fled on foot. They also learned shots were fired during the incident and a victim received non-life-threatening injuries.
In the month and a half since, police have continued following up on leads, including executing search warrants throughout Fort Dodge, police said. That investigation led to Walker’s arrest.
His initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court is expected today.
The Police Department said the case is still under investigation and more charges may be forthcoming.
