Fort Dodge man stabbed
A Fort Dodge man, identified by Fort Dodge Police Lt. Dennis Mernka as Chad Ruby, 27, was stabbed early Monday morning at a private residence.
Mernka said the incident happened on Fifth Avenue North. It was reported at 3:26 a.m.
“We were responding to a fight call,” Mernka said. “We found the victim with stab wounds and called medics.”
“He does have substantial wounds,” Mernka said. “We don’t believe they’re life threatening.
Ruby posted on a social media page that he had been stabbed 10 times in the back on Monday. He also posted a photograph of some of his wounds.
Ruby was transported to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Mernka said the incident remains under investigation.
