Pipeline protesters found guilty

ROCKWELL CITY – Two people who were arrested for protesting the installation of an oil pipeline in Calhoun County were found guilty in district court Thursday.

Emma Schmitt, 23, of Rockwell City, and Tosun Mahmud Fitil, 36, of Omaha, Nebraska, were each found guilty of criminal trespass, a simple misdemeanor.

Sentencing will be at a later date.
