Husske: Man fired gunshot to break up fight
A man used a shotgun to break up a fight late Friday morning and investigators are looking to find more information.
The incident happened at 11:50 a.m.
According to Fort Dodge Police Lt. Cory Husske, officers responded to Avenue M West after receiving multiple calls about shots being fired.
When they arrived, Husske said witnesses directed officers to 308 Ave. M West, where the shots came from.
Officers learned that a group of men were fighting in front of that home. At one point, one of the men went into the home and came out with a shotgun.
Husske said the man fired a single gunshot into the ground to end the fight.
Once that happened, the other men fled the scene.
Officers seized the shotgun.
Husske said officers are continuing to investigate the incident until all information is known.
