Pickup, grain truck collide

He was transported with non-life-threatening injuries to UnityPoint Trinity Regional Medical Center, according to Tony Walter, Webster County sheriff's deputy. The truck collided with a semitrailer carrying a load of corn at the intersection of 310th Street and Johnson Avenue. Don Sandel, 66, of Fort Dodge, was driving the semitrailer. Sandel was treated on scene, but not transported to a hospital. The Iowa State Patrol, Webster County sheriff's deputies, Southwest Webster Gowrie Ambulance, and Gowrie volunteer fire department were on scene.

The crash sent one man to the hospital, according to Walter. The semitrailer was driven by Don Sandel, 66, of Fort Dodge. He was traveling westbound on 310th Street. Mitch Pearson, 40, of Moorland, was driving a pickup truck. He was traveling southbound on Johnson Avenue. The two vehicles collided at an uncontrolled intersection. According to Walter, the weather caused visibility issues at the time of the crash. The semitrailer, belonging to AKR Farm, of Dayton, was carrying a full load of corn. Pearson was transported by Southwest Webster Gowrie Ambulance to UnityPoint Health - Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, Walter reported. Sandel was treated on scene and was not transported to a hospital.
