Manson Northwest Webster names new head

Elementary principal to be superintendent

MANSON — The Manson Northwest Webster Elementary School principal has been named that school district’s new superintendent, pending approval by the local Board of Education.

The district announced Friday that Justin Daggett has been selected for the position.

The school board is expected to act on the appointment Wednesday. Following board approval, Daggett will take over as superintendent on July 1.

He will replace Mark Egli, who is retiring on June 30.

”I’m just getting more and more excited and getting ready to begin working on leading the district from a district perspective,” Daggett said Friday afternoon.

”My first objective and goal is to just learn the position and learn the district from a districtwide perspective,” he added.

One of Daggett’s first tasks upon becoming superintendent will be finding his replacement as elementary school principal. He said the search for a new principal began Friday.

Daggett has been the elementary school principal since 2012.

Before coming to the Manson Northwest Webster Community School District, he was a third grade teacher in Eagle Grove for about six years.

He is a graduate of Winterset High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota. He earned master’s and specialist’s degrees in educational leadership from Drake University in Des Moines.

He and his wife, MacKenzie, have three children.

Daggett was one of 25 candidates for the position.

Grundmeyer Leader Search LLC, of Ankeny, helped the school board conduct the superintendent search.
