Man arrested in Bloomers, FD Library robberies

A Fort Dodge man has been arrested in connection with two downtown robberies earlier this month.

Devontae Mosley-Smith, 24, of Fort Dodge, is charged with two counts of second-degree robbery and ongoing criminal conduct.

Mosley-Smith is also charged with third-degree theft for allegedly stealing from Dollar General.

It’s alleged that Mosley-Smith assaulted an employee at Bloomers on Central, 900 Central Ave., and stole items from them and the store on May 9.

Just days later, on May 12, Mosley-Smith allegedly took money from a cash register at the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave.

He is being held in the Webster County Jail awaiting his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday.
