2 injured in crash northeast of FD

Two people were injured after a pickup truck collided with a semitrailer at the intersection of Samson Avenue and 170th Street Saturday morning, according to the Webster County sheriff’s office.

The crash was reported at 8:30 a.m. northeast of Fort Dodge.

Carl Polson, of Algona, was driving the semitrailer, traveling south on Samson Avenue.

Jaime Perez, of Fort Dodge, was driving the pickup truck and headed west on 170th Street.

Angela Perez, also of Fort Dodge, was a passenger in the pickup truck.

Polson reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the roadway on 170th Street, according to Webster County sheriff’s office crash reports.

The semitrailer was struck by the pickup truck.

Jaime Perez and Angela Perez suffered injuries in the crash.

Both were taken to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Jaime Perez was airlifted to the hospital by UnityPoint Health Life Flight.

Angela Perez was transported by UnityPoint Health Ambulance.

Condition reports on Jaime Perez and Angela Perez were not available Sunday night.

Polson was reportedly uninjured. He was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

The Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County sheriff’s deputies, Duncombe volunteer fire department, Vincent volunteer fire department, Vincent Ambulance, UnityPoint Health Ambulance, and the UnityPoint Health Life Flight helicopter were on scene.
