Woman robbed at gunpoint

Two men ambush victim on way to Harcourt bank

HARCOURT — A woman was stopped by two men and robbed at gunpoint before she could make a deposit for a local convenience store in Harcourt Sunday afternoon, according to Lt. Kevin Kruse, of the Webster County sheriff’s office.

The woman reportedly works as a clerk at Sparky’s One Stop, located at 403 W. U.S. Highway 169.

At about 2:45 p.m., she left in her vehicle to make a deposit for the store.

Before she reached Security Savings Bank, 127 S. Ash St., the woman was allegedly cut off by two black men driving a black SUV, Kruse reported.

The men are described as being in their mid-20s, according to Kruse.

The woman was stopped in her vehicle near South Ash Street and Elm Street.

Each man reportedly displayed a handgun before demanding money from the woman, Kruse said.

The two men allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of money, as well as the woman’s purse, according to Kruse.

Kruse said it’s possible the suspects may have discarded some of the items along the roadway.

The men fled out of town in the black SUV, which reportedly had no license plates.

It’s not known which direction the men fled.
