Man accused in drunk driving crash
A Spirit Lake man is accused of getting into a car accident while intoxicated, causing injuries to a passenger.
Nolan Randall, 20, is charged with operating while intoxicated causing serious injury and failure to maintain control.
He was allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol at 4:45 a.m. Friday, according to Fort Dodge Police Chief Kevin Doty.
He added a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe went into a ditch and rolled, ejecting the passenger.
Officers found her nearly 40 feet away from the accident scene.
Doty said the passenger was taken to UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center. Her name and extent of her injuries is not being revealed by Fort Dodge police.
Randall was ordered held on $5,000 bond by Magistrate William Thatcher Friday morning.
