Decker Truck Line Inc. receives Hy-Vee award

Decker Truck Line was the recent recipient of Hy-Vee’s Transportation Supplier of the Year Award. Decker was selected out of approximately 100 other carriers that provide transportation assistance to the grocery chain outside of its own fleet.

Decker was presented with the award during Hy-Vee’s annual supplier appreciation event, where vendors and suppliers for the grocery chain gather to learn more about the industry and conduct business with executives. The event concludes every year with an awards presentation.

Hy-Vee’s Transportation Supplier of the Year Award is based on a variety of criteria, including volume and diversity of freight hauled, on-time performance, freight tender acceptance, driver attitude and work ethic, and communication between the companies.

“We appreciate the partnership we have with Decker,” said Jody Sandy, Hy-Vee’s vice president of supply chain. “With their assistance, we are able to meet the needs of our millions of customers across our eight-state region.”

Decker Truck Line Inc. is a Fort Dodge-based trucking company, founded in 1931 with a single Model B Ford truck. Today, Decker operates across the country, with additional offices in Missoula, Montana, and Bessemer, Alabama, and terminals throughout the Midwest.

Hy-Vee, Inc. is an employee-owned corporation operating more than 245 retail stores across eight Midwestern states with sales of $10 billion annually. The company has more than 80,000 employees.
