NEWS: A memorial to Capt. Darrell Lindsey, a 1938 graduate of Fort Dodge High School and the only Fort Dodger to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor, was rededicated in Jefferson.

SPORTS: Fort Dodge beat Mason City 6-5 and 10-8 in baseball.

50 Years ago: June 12, 1968

NEWS: Fern Thayer, a resident of Friendship Haven, had spent 29 years bedridden due to severe arthritis, but still mastered knitting, crocheting, tatting and painting.

SPORTS: The Fort Dodge Merchants beat Nevada 14-0 in baseball.
