NEWS: Fort Dodge Senior High teacher Pam Rodewald received the first Carrie Chapman Catt Award from the League of Women Voters.

SPORTS: Both boys and girls tennis teams from St. Edmond beat Estherville, 9-0.

April 23, 1967

NEWS: Jim Beeson, of Fort Dodge, had the worst luck. He had a flat tire, the spare was flat, and then the engine died, so he left the car parked on the side of the highway overnight. Vandals smashed several windows, stole the battery and carburetor, cut cables and the fan belt and smeared bananas that were left in the car all over the outside of it.

SPORTS: Dan Severson bowled a 135 game in The Red Hots league.
