FDSH holds Solo Ensemble Festival

Students in the Fort Dodge Senior High instrumental music department recently participated in the 2019 Solo and Ensemble Festival.

Students from the band and orchestra were judged on 27 performances and participated in short clinics with the judges.

“Our students worked hard preparing for this festival and that work shows in their ratings,” said Al Paulson, FDSH band instructor. “The students will continue to improve individually using the feedback from the judges, which will make us stronger as large ensembles as well.”

Victoria Pavik received a Best of Center Award for her violin solo and Riley Reed and Kirsten Wendel received a Best of Center Award for their horn duet.
