FDSH students compete at State DECA

Four heading to Nationals in California

Ten students from Fort Dodge Senior High traveled to Des Moines recently to compete in the State DECA Career Development Conference.

DECA stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America. In the event, students compete in various business leadership topics.

Keaton Dornath received first place on his marketing communications exam, honorable mention in marketing communications, and honorable mention in the hospitality and tourism written event.

Tyrnan Lara received first place on his second role play and honorable mention overall in sports and entertainment marketing.

Tristan Earnest received honorable mention in restaurant and food service management.

Ashton Acree received honorable mention in business services marketing.

Katie Degner received honorable mention in the innovation plan written event.

Hannah Wadle received honorable mention in accounting applications and first place in her buying and merchandising written event.

Wadle, Earnest, Lara, and Dornath will be heading to Nationals April 26 in Anaheim, California.

Instructor Amy Jaeschke will be traveling with the four students.
