Algona H.S. Scarlet Regiment places second
Algona High School Marching Band, Scarlet Regiment, placed second (out of six bands) in Class 3A at North Central Marching Band Invitational at Fort Dodge on Sept. 23.
The band was evaluated by six adjudicators and earned a total score of 71.8 on a 100-point scale.
The Scarlet Regiment was awarded four caption awards from the festival, earning the Best Brass, Best Soloist — Kellen Schmidt (trombone), Best Percussion, and Best Drum Majors. The Scarlet Regiment’s 2017 show is entitled “Scarlet Jazz.”
