Bailey is one of 100 Great Iowa Nurses

Jessica Bailey, Bachelor of Science in nursing, registered nurse, and manager of clinical performance and quality improvement at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center, was selected as one of the 100 Great Iowa Nurses.

Bailey began her career at Trinity in 2005 as a nurse in the Critical Care Unit.

In 2013, she became the accreditation specialist at Trinity. Then in 2015, Bailey became manager of quality, informatics, health education, diabetes & healthy living.

In all, over 500 Iowa nurses were nominated for this honor. Those nominations came in from patients, colleagues and friends.

Reviewers then looked for those nominees who made meaningful, lasting contributions to their patients, colleagues and the nursing profession, and are viewed as mentors to other nursing professionals. Those selected are known for their courage, competence and commitment to the field of nursing.

The nurses will be honored at the 15th annual celebration of Iowa’s Great Nurses on May 5 at the Iowa Events Center’s Community Choice Credit Union in Des Moines.

The event is a prelude to National Nurses Week, May 6 through May 12.

This statewide program is made possible through the support of sponsors.

The Iowa Nurses Association, Iowa Nurses Foundation and the University of Iowa College of Nursing collaborate on this project each year. To see the entire list, visit www.greatnurses.org.
