PRO Cooperative donates to 4-H in area counties

POCAHONTAS — PRO Cooperative recently presented a check to the Iowa 4-H Foundation for $10,000.

The funds will support 4-H Programs in six Iowa counties.

The donation will be divided among the counties PRO Cooperative serves: Calhoun, Dickinson, Emmet, Humboldt, Palo Alto and Pocahontas.

A $5,000 gift from PRO Cooperative was matched by the Land O’Lakes Foundation to give local 4-H Programs the resources they need to continue to provide high quality youth development opportunities.

“PRO Cooperative believes in the 4-H mission of growing youth leaders,” Kyle Kuepker, Pro Cooperative CEO, said. “We’re proud to support the local chapters as these 4-H programs positively impact all of our communities.”

Land O’Lakes Foundation Member Co-op Match Program matches dollar-for-dollar the cash donation of member cooperatives, thus doubling the funds available for hometown projects.

By matching funds for projects selected and funded by member cooperatives, Land O’Lakes Foundation leverages local funding efforts and ensures community support for programs.

“We are grateful to PRO Cooperative and Land O’Lakes for their contribution to support local 4-H programs,” Emily Saveraid, Iowa 4-H Foundation executive director, said. “These dollars will help local 4-H’ers develop their leadership potential, critical thinking skills, and community engagement.”
