Grant Smith and Theresa Compart

Theresa Mae Compart, of Fort Dodge, and Grant Sheppard Smith, of Algona, are engaged.

Parents of the couple are Marc and Peg Compart, of Lehigh; and Steve and Deb Smith, of Algona.

A March 17 wedding is planned.

Compart is a 2000 graduate of Southeast Webster High School. She earned her associate’s degree in medical laboratory technology from Iowa Central Community College in 2007 and bachelor’s degree in health administration from University of Phoenix in 2012. She is a medical laboratory technician with UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Smith is a 2004 graduate of Bishop Garrigan High School. He graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in 2011. He is a patrolman and K-9 handler with the Algona Police Department.
