Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, foundation to benefit
HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Foundation will host two shows featuring The Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos for guests to enjoy while supporting the hospital and its foundation.
The shows will be the highlight of the 15th annual Founders Event to be held Jan. 20 at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds Event Center, 509 N. Fourth St., Humboldt.
“As we venture into the future, we invite you to share in this mission with us. Supporters of the HCMH Foundation can help ensure the future of quality health care for the residents of Humboldt County,” Mardi Ratzlaff, foundation director, said. “The foundation recognizes the importance of private contributions. By building a better hospital, we build better communities, and encourage these gifts which will have a direct and lasting impact.”
There will be two shows offered again this year.
The first show, “Seniors and Soldiers,” will begin at 3 p.m. Jan. 20. It will include coffee, desserts, a cash bar and entertainment by The Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos, which will be performing throughout the afternoon.
The “Seniors and Soldiers” show will be tailored to the senior citizens and veterans who served the country and will feature patriotic music and songs from earlier decades
However, anyone can attend.
The second show of the day, “Light Up the Night for the Health of It!” will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour, appetizers, and a cash bar. At 8 p.m. the Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos will take the stage.
“‘Light Up the Night, for the Health of It!’ show will be a high energy show with all the antics expected from dueling piano shows,” Ratzlaff said. “They will truly ‘Light Up the Night, For the Health of It’!”
Ratzlaff added, “During the evening show, we will have renderings of the new building project on display for guests to view.”
The HCMH is on track to construct a major expansion of almost 40,000 square feet as a two-story building. The project will strengthen the hospital’s future and capabilities in a number of care areas in addition to primary care.
The new and renovated spaces will also benefit specialty services, rehabilitation services, cardiopulmonary services, diabetic education, dietary support, patient education, Humboldt County Public Health, and assorted internal HCMH administrative needs.
The duo, “Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos” is a traveling entertainment consisting of David Charles Eichholtz and Ted Manderfeld. They are known to take audiences on a variety class act adventure, where the audience paves the way to a wild and zany performance.
Ratzlaff said, “This has been a highly anticipated event in Humboldt County for years and that is why the Foundation has decided to keep bringing Dave and Ted, ‘Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos’ back for several encores”
Tickets for the 3 p.m. show cost $20 per person. Tickets for the 6 p.m. show cost $50 per person. Ratzlaff said there are only 75 tickets left until the two shows sell out.
“You may purchase your tickets online at humboldthospital.org or in the HCMH lobby; this event will sell out so make sure to get your tickets in advance,” Ratzlaff said.
All proceeds from this event will go to investing in the future of health care in Humboldt County
