Pedal for a Purpose set for Saturday in FD
The second annual Pedal for a Purpose bicycle ride fundraiser for Opportunity Village, a nonprofit organization that provides services to individuals with disabilities, will be held Saturday in Webster County.
Two routes will be offered this year. One will be a 30-mile route with four stops. The other will be a one-mile family route.
Both routes will start and end at Shimkat Motor Co., 3126 Fifth Ave. S.
Registration for the long route will begin at 8 a.m. and the ride will begin at 9 a.m.
Registration for the short route will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the ride at 11 a.m.
Both routes will have pit stops along the way at area businesses, and riders will receive bracelets for deals and specials at each participating stop.
Pit stops on the long route include Soldier Creek Winery, Knuckleheads Bar & Grill in Badger, Vincent Bar & Grill in Vincent and Fort Frenzy. The pit stop on the short route is Fort Frenzy.
Following both rides, participants can enjoy food, drinks, activities and live music by RoadToast in the Shimkat Motor Co. parking lot. Raffle and door prizes will also be awarded.
