Heritage Days coming soon to Pocahontas

POCAHONTAS – Pocahontas Heritage Days will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Major events will include a 5K race, parade, fireworks and a softball tournament.

At 6:30 p.m. Friday there will be a Kiddie Parade at Courthouse Square. At 7 p.m. Friday the Community Band will perform at the Rialto Theater.

Additional events Friday include Trivia Night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and the fireworks show beginning at 10 p.m.

The 5K race will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at Elbert Park.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elbert Park. It will be followed immediately by the bed races.

The coed adult slow pitch softball tournament will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elbert Park.

Children’s activities, including a carnival, face painting and inflatables will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Elbert Park.

The Princess City Players will perform ”Our Town on the Prairie” beginning at 2 p.m. at the Rialto Theater.

At 7 p.m. a free movie will be shown at the Rialto Theater. Admission will be free with a Heritage Days Button.

The Senders Band will perform from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Expo Center. Admission is $10 or $5 with a Heritage Days Button.

A Chris Cakes meal will be served from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight.
