A singer and songwriter whose music has been described as folk Americana will perform at Soldier Creek Winery near Fort Dodge Friday.

Jill Cohn will perform from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. during Vineyard Vibrations at the winery, 1584 Paragon Ave. Admission is free, Infinity Restaurant Group, of Fort Dodge, will provide dinners for $5.

Cohn, of Seattle, Washington, is touring to promote her new CD “Heartstrings Touching Ground.” The CD was produced and recorded by Grammy Award winning producer Malcolm Burn. Burn has worked with Bob Dylan and EmmyLou Harris.

Cohn, a full-time musician since 1999, has released 11 CDs. She released “Beautiful I Love You” in 2013.

Meagan Secor, the marketing director for Soldier Creek Winery, described Cohn’s music as “definitely worth a listen.”

Vineyard Vibrations is a regular event at the winery. Secor said musicians often contact the winery, asking to play there. She added that an agent in Des Moines also helps to recruit musicians.
