Manson Meridian Singers

MANSON — The Manson Meridian Singers have been busy during the month of January preparing for this year’s production titled “All You Need is Love.”

This year’s show features many familiar melodies as the Meridians unfold the theme of “All You Need is Love.” This show is planned as a musical tribute of songs to Valentine’s Day, as well as a tribute to the Beatles’ premiere of this song 50 years ago.

“This will be an exciting and fun-filled show,” said Jerrold Jimmerson, the group’s director, “It should be a must see on your winter entertainment calendar.”

This year’s show has been divided into several segments representing various styles, from the sounds of the 1930s through the 1980s, to religious favorites, finishing with the sounds of the U.S.A. — with a touch of red, white, and blue.

There are several religious and patriotic favorites included on the program, and several soloists and small groups will be featured as well.

A men’s group singing the Everyly Brothers hit, “Bye Bye, Love” along with a mixed quartet singing “Put A Little Love in Your Heart,” a ladies ensemble singing “The Gift of Love,” and a duet singing “Baby It’s Cold Outside” will perform.

Several soloists will be featured as well, including Shari Netz, Vara Groot, Deb Parkison, Josh Waller, Bryan Jimmerson, and B.J. Ukena.

Other songs the audience will hear include “Slow Dancing for Two,” “Love Changes Everything,” and “I Just Called to Say I Love You”

In addition, a Children’s Chorus will be featured for two selections, “At Home, Let There Be Love” and “Jesus Loves Me.”

Jimmerson will be directing his 31st production after having sung with the group for eight years. Piano accompanist duties this year are being shared by Lori Erkenbrack, of Rockwell City, who previously sang and accompanied the group for 15 years, along with Deanna Meyer, of Manson, who has sung and accompanied the group for seven years.

There are a total of 25 vocalists in this year’s production, along with a three-piece combo providing accompaniment.
