The pair will perform for the annual show benefitting the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital’s Foundation on Jan. 21 at the Humboldt County Events Center in Humboldt.

HUMBOLDT — Deuces Wild, Dueling Pianos will take the stage for the third consecutive year at the Humboldt County Events Center at the fairgrounds as part of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Foundation’s 14th annual Founders event.

The popular traveling entertainment show, featuring David Charles Eicholz and Ted Manderfeld, will perform twice on Saturday.

The first show will be the Seniors and Soldiers show starting at 3 p.m.. That show will have a patriotic theme and will serve as somewhat of a tribute to veterans, according to Mardi Ratzlaff, director of the foundation.

“The shows are full of music and comedy,” Ratzlaff said. “It’s very interactive. There’s a lot of interaction between Dave and Ted and the attendees.”

Coffee and desserts will also be served.

Starting at 6 p.m. will be The Night of 1,000 Laughs to kick off the evening festivities.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available to attendees.

The second show starts at 8 p.m. That show will be geared towards night entertainment, Ratzlaff said.

Dave is self taught musician who plays a number of instruments including the piano, guitar, saxophone, harmonica and trumpet, according to information on the group’s official website.

Ted has played thousands of dueling piano shows with performances throughout the United States.

The group was brought back because of the favorable response they received in years past, Ratzlaff said.

“They are worth every penny and it supports a great cause at the same time,” Ratzlaff said.

All the proceeds go to support the HCMH.

The HCMH Foundation was formed in 1990 with a mission to generate charitable contributions to improve the health and well-being of people in Humboldt County.

In 2016, the foundation was able to invest $200,000 in a new state-of-the-art 3D mammography machine for the radiology department.

The machine allows for faster detection of breast cancer and is clinically proven to increase those detections, according to Ratzlaff.

New to the Founders event is a silent auction, according to Ratzlaff.

The silent auction will include baskets from each of the HCMH departments including the Humboldt County Hospice Foundation , the HCHMH Auxiliary and local businesses.

Also included in the silent auction are two round trip flights donated by Air Choice One.

Tickets for the event are still for sale at $50 per person.

More than 230 tickets have been sold to date.

“Our goal is to sell out at 350,” Ratzlaff said.
