Legacy Learning to offer canning class

WEBSTER CITY — Canning has changed a lot since we helped in the kitchen growing up. We may not have gotten sick, but now the science behind keeping our food safe has been updated, we will explore new techniques.We will test your canning lid to double-check that the pressure on your gauge is truly the pressure happening while canning. (only the lid is needed for testing). We will share new recipes from ISU Extension and Outreach and try canning one of the simpler recipes together.

The class will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 8 and Aug. 15 at the Webster City High School, 1001 Lynx Ave., Webster City. A light dinner will be provided. The tuition is $25.
