FDMS to Present ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’
“Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” the seventh- and eighth-grade musical, will be performed at 7 p.m. on March 16 and 17 in the Fort Dodge Middle School auditorium.
More than75 choir students are involved in the production.
Based on the beloved Ronald Dahl tale, this comedic and fantastical musical follows young Charlie Bucket and his Grandpa Joe as they join a small group of children who win the chance to tour the factory of the eccentric candy maker Willy Wonka. The Factory is home to the diminutive Oompa Loompa’s, who aid Wonka in the production of his scrumptious confections.
Fully unaware of Wonka’s true intentions, the contest winners think that they are competing for a lifetime supply of chocolate. Wonka’s true motives are revealed after the children in the group show their true colors and one child remains.
Tickets will be available for purchase beginning March 9th in the FDMS Administration Office. They will also be available at the door the nights of the show. Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for students.
