Randal Nerhus to speak on Saturday

A man working to publish another author’s unfinished novel, “Red With Native Blood,” about Native Americans, will speak at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave.

Randal Nerhus will speak about Marjorie Carter’s mission to write an historical fiction book to empower Native Americans, and how her work lives on. Marjorie died in 2004, with an unfinished manuscript and Nerhus’ promise to bring it to publication. Over the years of working on the novel, he found universal themes inherent in all of our lives: discipline, hardship, desolation — and the willpower to bring about renewal.
