Hiveley — 90 years old
Geneva Hiveley, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the First Covenant Church fellowship hall, 201 Ave. H.

Her family includes three children, 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Geneva Belle Lambert was born Jan. 20, 1928, on a farm near Dayton. She graduated from Burnside and Tobin’s Business College. She married Clarence Hiveley on Nov. 2, 1946. She helped her husband in his construction business, was secretary of First Covenant Church, worked in the Fort Dodge Senior High office and sang in the church choir. She also professionally painted and wallpapered for individual and commercial clients in the community. She successfully rode her bicycle in RAGBRAI for five consecutive years and owned and operated a local health food store with her daughter. She is a member of First Covenant Church.
